Dr. William Bordwell attends 2008 Optometry’s Meeting June 25-29th in Seattle, Washington.
The 111th Annual AOA Congress, 38th Annual AOSA Conference and Optometry’s Meeting is a major industry event with unparalleled CE sessions, over 200 of the industry’s top exhibitors, House of Delegates and interaction among the nation’s eye care professionals.
Seattle, WA, June 25, 2008: Optometry’s Meeting is an excellent opportunity for eye care professionals to gather information and see demonstrations on the industry’s latest new products and technologies, attend innovative and informative continuing education sessions and connect with other eye care professionals. Experts in the Eye Health field conducted comprehensive lectures on topics of interest such as Chronic Dry Eye, Ocular Disease, Glaucoma, and the “Latest and Greatest News in Optometry.” Dr. Bordwell garnered 18 continuing education credits in these courses as well as a variety of other initiatives. Robert Channing, Christopher Gardner and Jay Leno were the top headliners for motivational speaking and entertainment. The 4 day event offered a “New Technology and Product Showcase”, and a “New in Practice” series for those just starting their career. Dr. Bordwell and other Illinois Optometrists paraded to “Sweet Home Chicago” around a colleague-filled theater dressed as the “Blues Brothers” in dark sunglasses while they ushered in the new president of the AOA – Dr. Peter Kehoe, O.D. Dr. Kehoe is a principal in a multi-office group located in Galesburg, IL and a colleague of Dr. Bordwell.

Dr. Bordwell recently introduced an example of new technology to the residents of Geneseo. The Optomap retinal exam takes a 200 degree photograph of the eye in a fraction of a second, offering an alternative to dilation of the eye and a greater detailed look inside the eye aiding in early detection of many diseases.
